Need for cockroachDB tools

Hello everyone,
Our company is currently interested in cockroachDB,and now investigating is there any tools for:
1.real-time data synchronization( mysql to CRDB,CRDB to CRDB )
2.supporting spark & streaming
3.backup
4.importing data and exporting data
5.monitoring and alerting
Thanks a lot for your help!

For monitoring and alerting, I am currently working on zbxdb
zbxdb is a plugin for zabbix that connects as a regular database client to do monitoring. It should not take too long to get this working for crdb. Currently working on postgres, next is crdb and mysql.

1.real-time data synchronization( mysql to CRDB,CRDB to CRDB )
2.supporting spark & streaming

We’ll be releasing change data capture in v2.1 - this would allow streaming changes to Kafka, which could then be streamed to Spark, MySQL, or (presumably) any other endpoint supported with Kafka.

3.backup
4.importing data and exporting data

Details about our capabilities regarding backup and restore are here and here. There are multiple ways of backing up and restoring data in CRDB. The enterprise BACKUP and RESTORE features let you back up and restore directly from the cloud, and save incremental changes rather than a full dump of your data. COCKROACH DUMP is available in the open source version, and allows you to dump a sql file of your entire database.

5.monitoring and alerting

In addition to Ronald’s solution above, we have some docs outlining our health endpoints open for monitoring. We also have a tutorial on monitoring using Prometheus, Grafana, and Alertmanager

If you’re going to need backup and restore, and change data capture, it’d probably make sense to have a conversation with our sales team about your needs and whether enterprise or the community version is a better fit. Feel free to DM me your contact info if you’d like to discuss with them further.
