To deploy Cockroach DB which is one better option: Docker based Containerized system or on a specific compute shape such as VM.DenselO2.8?

Hi,

We have just migrated on cockroach DB, its really amazing and interesting DB. However as per requirement for production deployment of cockroach DB we need to figure out which one is better option between two :

  • Docker based Containerized system or,
  • Specific compute shape such as VM.DenselO2.8 as this has NVMe directly attached storage rather than network accessed blocks.

As a newbie in both the systems, I really appreciate any type of clarification or suggestion.

I think this will depend on your environment. The best way to know which is the better choice is to run benchmarks or choose the one that is easier to use.
